The Eagle Public Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) registered charity, run by volunteers since 2021.  We are dedicated to raising money that fund projects that are not in the city budget. Several areas we support include early childhood development, new collections, and senior services. This year, our primary goal is to raise money for a mobile library.

We are seeking opportunities to raise awareness of our organization and its mission, supporting the Eagle community through the Eagle Public Library.

Paul Woods – Idaho State Tax Commission

Speaker: Paul Woods, Tax Commissioner, Idaho State Tax Commission

The Idaho State Tax Commission works to administer the tax laws of the state fairly for everyone. We are committed to helping you understand Idaho tax law, rules, and forms.

The function of today’s IDAHO Tax Commission is very different from its earliest predecessors, which were responsible for overseeing how Idaho land and other property was valued and taxed. The Tax Commission still has those responsibilities, but fulfilling them is a much bigger job. Idaho’s growing population, the increasing complexity of our economy and the threats of fraud and cyberattacks have prompted the Tax Commission to adopt modern, technologically advanced systems for processing tax returns and protecting the personal information of Idaho taxpayers. That includes a new model of continuous software enhancement to our GenTax data system. Another focus is improving taxpayer education and public outreach to improve understanding of laws and policies, and ultimately encouraging voluntary compliance.

Great people. Helping you. Serving Idaho.

Club Description: The Eagle-Garden City Rotary Club was founded May 1, 1997, as a small suburban club in the Greater Boise area. Our members come from Boise, Meridian and Eagle, and we meet weekly for lunches and presentations.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to the youth in our communities. Based on that commitment, we do several projects to benefit youth every year:

  • Distributing dictionaries to third graders in 10 elementary schools.
  • Celebrating Christmas with students from Pierce Park Elementary School.
  • Hosting a Rotary Youth Exchange student coming to District 5400 and sponsoring an exchange student from Idaho who is going abroad.
In the past, we have also participated in other youth projects:

  • Working with staff at the Eagle Academy, an alternative high school, to present persistence awards to deserving students every semester.
  • Sponsoring an annual Halloween party with the Boys and Girls Club of Ada County.
  • Distributing Christmas food baskets for deserving families selected by the Garden City Fire Department.
  • Participating in a bicycle rodeo for elementary school kids.
We are actively seeking new members to expand our ability to lend a hand to those in need.  If a Thursday noon meeting is convenient for you, visit us for a fun hour of fellowship.
