Wetland Peace Preserve

Rooted in Rotary’s “Service Above Self” mission, the Wetland Peace Preserve embodies a long-standing commitment to community service, environmental stewardship, and peace advocacy. This space represents those values, ensuring its impact extends well into the future.

Where is the Wetland Peace Preserve?
Nestled along the north shore of the Boise River on Willow Lane, the Wetland Peace Preserve is an 18-acre refuge dedicated to protecting and celebrating Idaho’s high desert wetlands. A collaborative effort between the Treasure Valley Rotary Clubs, the City of Boise, and community partners, the preserve reflects a shared commitment to conservation, education, and peace.

My Year in Belgium

Talmage will share his year as a Youth Exchange Student to Belgium – he is also volunteering to be a RYLA counselor this summer.

JEMfriends, Boise, Idaho

Speakers: Alexis Flores, Community Engagement Coordinator

JEMfriends supports at-risk youth in Boise, Idaho and the surrounding Treasure Valley. We emphasize helping youth who have been impacted by foster care, but other at-risk youth facing significant barriers to independence are also assisted. We strive to meet each young person where they are, supporting them on their personal path to independence. JEMfriends is a non-profit organization completely funded by the community through donations, grants, businesses, churches, and charity organizations. All donations are tax-deductible.

JEMfriends envisions that all at-risk youth, including those aging out of foster care, have the opportunities to thrive in a society that understands their adversities and supports them in becoming loving adults.

JEMfriends Mission:

• to provide stability and opportunities for at-risk youth.
• to introduce them to Jesus Christ, the source of hope.
• to spread knowledge about these youth.
• to facilitate connections that create friendship, community, and growth.

Attorney General Raúl R. Labrador

Topic: Protecting Idaho: The Role of the Attorney General.

We are honored to welcome Idaho Attorney General Raúl R. Labrador as our guest speaker at the Eagle-Garden City Rotary on Thursday, August 21.

Mr. Labrador was elected as Idaho’s 33rd Attorney General in 2022 and took office in 2023. A graduate of Brigham Young University and the University of Washington School of Law, his legal career has included service in both federal and state courts.

His public service began in the Idaho House of Representatives in 2006. In 2010, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served four terms until 2019. During that time, he chaired the Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security and was a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus.

Known for his strong constitutional principles and commitment to limited government, Attorney General Labrador has been a steadfast advocate for parental rights, Second Amendment protections, and Idaho’s sovereignty. Since taking office, he has championed government transparency and achieved significant legal victories on behalf of Idahoans.

Please join us for what promises to be a compelling and informative presentation.

About our Venue:
Eagle-Garden City Rotary Holds it’s weekly meeting at Eagle City Hall on Thursdays at Noon.
Doors open for social and seating at 11:30am and the Rotary meeting starts at NOON, with the speaker time allocated for 12:10pm to 12:50pm.

Please note:
Open seating.  Eagle City Hall Chambers has seating limited to about 100 people. 
There is no catering at this venue, but members and guest are encouraged to bring your own lunch.

Save Idaho Seniors

Belong Co Idaho

Speakers: Kendall Peake and Kristen Richardson

BelongCo was started in September 2022 to provide more opportunities for adults with disabilities in the Treasure Valley. Our president, Kendall Peake, is passionate about bringing people together and enhancing lives through relationships. Belong Co. also values showing the community that people with disabilities are employable, capable, and hard-working. We currently employ fourteen adults with disabilities through Belong Co. Coffee and Belong Co. Ice Cream.

BelongCo is all about Creating social and employment opportunities to empower adults with disabilities to explore and embrace their abilities, and foster an environment that values inclusion and growth.

Kristen Richardson graduated from BSU with a Business Administration Degree and has been working with Cru at Boise State (a campus ministry) ever since. Kristen has always had a heart for the disability community and desires to use her business skills to create more opportunities in Boise for people with disabilities to connect, learn, and grow. She is passionate about knowing people deeply and well; she loves watermelon, spending time outdoors, being with the people she loves, and baking.

Bee Box Building Blitz

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Boise Metro Rotary. We’re celebrating 40 years of impact by building 40 pollinator boxes, and we invite you to join us!  Come for an hour or the whole afternoon. We’ll supply all the tools, materials and instructions needed for you to build a pollinator box for your garden.

We will have trash bags, vests, signs and trash picker tools available.

Wear comfortable close-toed shoes – Dress for the weather.
Bring Gloves (if you have them) for picking up trash
